Pocket Friendly Indo-Chinese Food: Chopstix (Sapru Marg)

Ordered #PaneerChilly (Thick Gravy), #SpicySchezwanNoodles and #SteamedChickenMomos from #Chopstix , (earlier used to be known as Red Dragon), next to Mr. Brown Outlet, Sapru Marg, through #Zomato at a price point of Rs. 154 after applying discount coupon code of 40% which is there on the portal.

Finally, the quest for pocket friendly yet tasty indo chinese food ends here. Their entire offering was top notch and i absolutely enjoyed it to the core.

There is no smartness in comparing the food from here to Mainland China or Lukjin (Hyatt Regency) as the later is into fine dine experience and is priced on a higher side.

People who crave for spicy yet flavoursome indo chinese food, this place is for you guys.

So, let us talk about the individual dishes in detail and i will try my level best to get you a feeling of it just by the description part..

Platter full of happiness

1: #PaneerChillyGravy:
I simply loved their preparation as it was too good in taste. Large size paneer cubes coated in a corn flour covering were fried to perfection and beautifully simmered in a spicy indo chinese gravy with the perfect balance of sauces and the presence of finely chopped ginger and garlic along with few green chillies took the flavour of it to another level. The quality of capsicum was good as it tasted fresh and was cooked perfectly on high flame with its crunchiness and colour not changing much.

Rating: 4.75/5

PortionSize: Half Plate: Good enough for two people when having with noodles or rice.

2: #SpicySchezwanNoodles
They used the thin textured noodles not the yellow coloured cheap noodles which can be found at most of the road side stalls so that was quite surprisingly welcomed. They were quite spicy as the name suggest though the presence of schezwan and chilly garlic sauce were more dominant and balanced the flavour of this dish perfectly. It was exactly how it should have been in my opinion. The burnt taste of garlic cloves when sauteed on high flame releases a distinct flavour and i absolutely adore that. Just add few more veggies to it to balance the spicy meter and one would think twice before deducting any marks from your spicy schezwan noodles.

Rating: 4.25/5

PortionSize: Half Plate: Good enough for two people (when not relying completely on one dish)

3: #SteamedChickenMomos
The inner stuffing of mashed chicken with traces of finely chopped onion was well supported by ginger garlic paste although they need to work more on their outer covering which were too sticky in nature.
Brilliantly supported by good quality mayonnaise and their in-house special red chilly chutney which goes amazingly well with the momos.

Rating: 3.75/5

PortionSize: Serves 1 (half plate consist of 5 pieces)

Packaging was decent considering that they don’t charge for it. There was no leakage of paneer chilly gravy as it was inside an aluminium packet tucked with rubber band and every item were delivered hot to me.

So, 4.5/5 for their packaging standard ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

Overall #Rating: 4.25 and worthy enough to try it for sure ๐Ÿ˜Š

Note:
1- Genuine Review, not a paid one.
2- Please dont order the spicy schezwan noodles if you are not comfortable with eating spicy food.
3- I ordered half plate of each of the above mentioned dish, their quantity is on a higher side so please keep that into consideration.

Regards
Sultan

Curry Leaf: Rava Idli

Ordered Rava Idli (12 small pieces) from #CurryLeaf restaurant (Hazratganj) through #Swiggy at a price point of Rs 90 after applying the coupon code of 30%

1: Taste
Steaming Hot & Puffy Rava Idlis were just too good according to my likeness with the the right amount of moisture content, softness level and cottony appearance.

The side accompaniments in the form of #Sambar, #CoconutChutney and #KaraChutney did perfect justice to the main dish. *

Sambar had a perfect sourness level with the right amount of required veggies and its consistency was absolutely on point in my opinion.

*Coconut Chutney had a dominant flavour of fresh coconut and raw peanuts. It was totally white in appearance and traces of freshly grinded coconut were easily visible with the naked eye.

*Kara Chutney (Orangish Red in colour- I have used it to decorate the idlis) could have been a little better with some more salt and tamarind added to it.

2: Portion Size
Good enough for one person
Rating: 5/5

3: Packaging Standard
The side accompaniments were delivered in an air tight plastic container (with tape over it to avoid leakage) which were very well placed in the carry bag along (with branding over it) with 2 tissue papers, one wooden spoon and the Idlis were sealed packed in an aluminium foil.
Rating: 5/5

4: Price Range
It was very well priced at Rs 90 (after applying discount coupon) considering the taste, portion size, brand name and packaging standard.
Rating: 5/5

Kudos to the entire team of Curry Leaf for keeping your standards high on all parameters.

#AddOn
Origin of Rava Idli took place in 1918 during World War-2 due to the shortage of main staple food i.e. pulses and rice.
There used to a lot of trading between southern parts of India and South East Asia, mainly Indonesia. So a lot of people used to come to India from Indonesia (For cooking purpose, marriage fucntions) and they transformed the earlier famous rice idli to steamed idli and that too by the usage of gehu ka rawa (semolina or sooji)
Commercially, it was first started in India in
India in 1924 by Mavalli Tiffin Room Restaurant in Bangalore.
